Garreth Chan is an award-winning music video and commercial director, editor, and producer from Hong Kong and based in London.

Originally pursuing a career in music therapy, Garreth discovered sound design and film scoring during his university years in the United Arab Emirates, which led him to work in a production company as a post producer, editor, and colourist. An unexpected lyric video edit drew his curiosity towards directing; starting off with music videos for his friends, Garreth has since worked with clients including Kendrick Lamar, The Rolling Stones, Burberry, Peggy Gou, Red Bull, Polydor Records, Seye Adelekan (Gorillaz, Hikaru Utada), Geo Jordan (Jungle, Grammy-winning songwriter for Doja Cat), G-Shock and more.

Garreth draws visual and mythological inspiration into deliberate and unusual storytelling through masterful production design and composition. Driven by his classical training as a musician, and refined by his experience in post-production, Garreth has a keen eye for pacing and the narrative’s ebb and flow. His contemplative confidence and love for photography translates into an intriguing and eye-catching style that is unmistakeable.

His work was recognized at the British Young Arrows 2025, with two finalist placements (Best Cinematography, Best Production Design) and two shortlist placements (Best Music Video Edit, Best Music Video Director).
